One thing I know is to be true is Death. Everyone has to die at one point. No one can stay alive forever. There are some people who don’t believe in death. Death is a part of life. That’s how simple is. I also believe in God. I know that God is real. Even though we don’t see him, I know he’s real. Its something I know, its something i believe in. God is the one that wakes up every morning. We say tommorow im doing this and this, how are you sure your’re going to wake up the next day. God is the only one that can wake us up or decideds to take us away. Nothing and no one can change my mind about that.   Like always there are some people that don’t belive in him, I wish I can explain to them that he’s real. But I really cant, its all about my faith.

What do I need from my parents?

            What I probably need from my parents is attention and some trust. I think I need attention because my parents always come pretty late from work. The only time is see them is at night. I’m the only child in the house so I don’t have anyone to talk to when I come from school. I do have siblings but they don’t really live in our house. You may think I get all the attention, but I don’t. When my parents come from work I’m usually doing my homework. The only time we have time to talk is during dinner time. But I do know we have really good communication. I tell them everything that’s going on either with friends, school work, etc.

            I also need some trust. I know my parents really trust me but sometimes they kind of doubt. Maybe it’s because I’m in my teenage years, so they think I’m a trouble maker or I’m up to something. I’m pretty sure they their trust for me is going to get bigger as I grow older. Right now they’re just trying to find out who I really am, because now and then I change; I do stuff differently. They already know my sisters. They both learned who they really are as they grew older. My parents did educate them really good. They are very nice young ladies, and I hope I grow to be like them one day.

What do I want to learn from my culture?

            Something I would like to learn about my culture is the Mexican Art. I want to know what kind of materials they used. I want to know if they used paint, and what kind of paint they used. I would also want to know what is the basic daily life of a Mexican is. I would also want to know where my two last names came from, De Luis and Cosme. I want to know if there is something significance about them. I would also want to know who and when found the La Laguna. La Laguna is this “lake” that is on our little town, San Juan Atenco. La Laguna is where the people used to wash their clothes. I’m not sure if it’s a “lake”, it is a really huge hole in the town and there is water all they way down. The people used to go down and climb up the rocks to wash their clothes. I would also like to know who actually started celebrating quincenera. Quincenera is when we celebrate when a girl is turning 15. This is well known in my family. Most of my girl of my family members had one. This is what I would like to know about my culture.

In my time capsule I would like Cinco de Mayo, Quincenera, and the feat day of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Me that I come from a Mexican Family I chose these ad important aspects of my culture. I am very proud to come from a Mexican family and these aspects are very special to my family and to most Mexicans.

            Cinco de Mayo is a really important date to all Mexicans. In this day Puebla won war against
France. One way that it makes it so special is that Puebla did not have sufficient supplies and France did,
France was very wealthy. Although they were very wealthy Mexicans still had the strength to beat them. That’s why I chose Cinco de Mayo as an important aspect to go on my Time Capsule. I chose the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe because she is very special to the Mexicans. She appeared in Mexico to
San Diego. I feel that she is very special. I chose Quincenera because this is also very important to my culture. Quincenera is a feast that we celebrate when a girl turns fifteen.  

Success to me means achieving something you’ve always wanted. In order for you to succeed you have to have what it takes to reach that high point. You have to have the learning skills and you have to be motivated. Succeeding is like playing a game, you either know how to play or you dont. If you dont you need to build your own learning skills. When you want to succeed you have reflect everday of your life. You need reflect and ask yourself what you did this day and how you can make it better the next day. I know everyone can succeed but some just choose not to. They can succed in anything. To succeed you need to earn it, you have to work and work until you  reach the high point.

My experience in working with groups with the kids from Snow Lake was not the first but will not be the last. I had a really fun and memorable time when I had to collaborate with them. My favorite experience when I had to work with the kids from Snow Lake is when we had to have chats with them during the week. I thought that was very fun having to talk to them through chat rooms, well those are my opinions others might have different. My least favorite experience when we had to chat with the kids was when we got on meebo, meebo with disconnect us. It will all of a sudden say that it can not connect. I thought that collaborating with the kids from Snow Lake was just fine

I think that the word that fits in the most in chapters eleven and twelve is the FRIENDSHIP. I think that this word is best for these two chapters because of the note that Johnny left to Ponyboy. The card was really sad and showed how much they cared for each other. It showed that they were really good friends. This really shows that they love each other as friends. Also when Randy comes to visit Ponyboy. This was really impressing because I never imagined a soc visit a greaser. And after all the book seemed like it was about friendship. It was about a group of boys that were always stick together with glue.

After reading chapters nine and ten the word that comes up to my mind is the word fear. I think the word fear is the best word that fits into these two chapters because the characters show their fear in the chapters. There are many places where the characters show fear such as in the part when during the rumble. They feared that something bad was going to happen. In my opinion I would also be afraid because you never know what’s going to happen. An other part when the characters showed fear is when Dally and Ponyboy went rushing to the hospital fearing that Johnny was dying. They were also scared when Dally was dying, it must have been really hard for them because they lost two friends in one night. Also the characters showed fear when Ponyboy had a concussion, Darry and Sodapop were worried for him. So FEAR is definitely the word I would choose for chapters nine and ten.

Friendship- The Outsiders Chapters 7&8

I chose Friendship for chapters seven and eight because it shows strong friendship from the characters in those two chapters. The way is its shows friendship in those chapters is for example when Ponyboy and Two-Bit go get cokes at Tasty Freeze and one of the socs come over to Ponyboy. Ponyboy think he’s up to something bad but Randy, soc, says that he only want to talk.  He also says that he never thought greasers would do such a thing as rescuing those children. Then Ponyboy finds out that socs can be like normal people and not strong and powerful. These chapters also show friendship when Ponyboy, Sodapop, Two-Bit, and Darry go visit Dally and Johnny at the hospital. This shows a lot of friendship.

The word I chose for chapters five and six is heroism. I chose this word because Johnny, Dally, and Ponyboy show what heroism is. After they came from the ice cream place, Dairy Queen, there was a fire. The church that they were staying at was the one that was getting on fire. They felt a bit guilty because they thought they caused it with a cigarette. When they came back from eating they saw that the church was on fire, but the bad news is that there were kids in the church. The kids were screaming. The three of them decided to go in and help them. They went in the firing church risking their lives to get those kids. That really showed heroism in my perspective.
